Bianca Catbagan is a Filipino director and photographer based in Los Angeles. She is a member of the American Film Institute's Directing Workshop for Women+ (DWW+) Class of 2027. Her work explores power, femininity and queer desire through intimate, visually driven stories that blur the line between cinema and photography.
As a filmmaker, Catbagan's work has screened at festivals including Inside Out, OutfestNEXT, Newport Beach Film Festival, Vancouver Queer Film Festival, GAZE International LGBTQIA Film Festival, Fringe Queer Film & Arts Festival and MIX Copenhagen. Her screenplay 2AM in Tokyo was selected for the TorinoFilmLab Next Feature program, and she has participated in the CHANEL × Busan International Film Festival Asian Film Academy and the Reykjavík International Film Festival Talent Lab.
Alongside her filmmaking, she has built a career as a photographer, creating behind-the-scenes imagery for film, television and commercial productions, as well as fashion and music events. Her clients include Proximity Media, Apple, T-Mobile, Hilton, and Soho House, and her work has taken her behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week, Philippine Fashion Week, Governors Ball Music Festival and Life Is Beautiful Music Festival. Her photography has been featured in The New York Times' Life & Arts China, Vogue Philippines, Variety, Schön! Magazine, Purveyr and Soho House.
